The short answer: f-commerce means selling through Facebook: a Page for your shop, Messenger for orders, and buy and sell groups for reaching buyers who don't follow you yet. In Bangladesh it is how a large share of small online businesses sell, from clothes and cosmetics to gadgets and home food. The groups are where new buyers are, but posting each product into group after group by hand is the slowest part of the job. AutoGP (we make it) is a Chrome extension that posts one product post to dozens or 100+ groups you've joined, automatically, in one click, safely: a daily limit set from your account's age, a pause between groups that varies, and the run stopped the first time Facebook warns the account. In Bangladesh the 25 free posts start without a card, and plans cost less than in the US.
Walk through any Bangladeshi city and you'll see the names of shops that exist only on Facebook. Some are businesses with staff and a warehouse; many are one person selling saris, phone cases or homemade pickles from home. And plenty of sellers aren't businesses at all: a student selling a laptop before going abroad, a family in Chattogram selling a fridge before a move. This guide is for all of them.
What f-commerce is
F-commerce is short for Facebook commerce: buying and selling through Facebook instead of a website or a marketplace app. In Bangladesh it usually looks like this:
- A Facebook Page is the shop: product photos, prices, reviews, and a "Send message" button.
- Messenger is the checkout. Buyers ask "price?", "available?" and "delivery charge?", and the seller confirms the order by message.
- Buy and sell groups bring new buyers. A Page reaches its followers; groups reach thousands of people who have never heard of the shop.
- Live videos show products in real time, popular for clothes, jewellery and cosmetics.
- Delivery goes by courier, often cash on delivery, and payment by mobile banking is common too.
It suits small sellers because it costs almost nothing to start: no website, no platform fee, and buyers already spend hours a day on Facebook.
Why groups matter more than the Page
A new Page has few followers, and Facebook shows a Page's posts to only some of them. Boosting posts costs money every time. Groups are different: a district buy and sell group or a women's shopping group can have tens of thousands of members who joined precisely to buy things.
The catch is volume. Buyers in one group don't see posts in another, so a seller who wants reach posts each product in many groups: city groups, district groups, category groups. Doing that by hand means opening each group, pasting the text, attaching the photos and pressing Post, again and again, for every product, every week. That is the part sellers tell us they hate, and the part AutoGP takes off their hands.
Which groups to join
Search Facebook, filter by Groups, and join the active ones among:
- Buy and sell groups for your city and district, then the neighbouring districts if you deliver there. Try "buy and sell", "buy sell", "online shopping" and "bazar" with the place name.
- Category groups: clothes and fashion, cosmetics and skin care, gadgets and mobile phones, home decor, books, baby products, home food.
- Women's and family shopping groups, many of which allow seller posts on set days.
- Community groups for your area that allow sale posts.
Before you post, read each group's rules. Many require a price in the post, allow one post per seller per day, ban links, or let sellers post only on certain days. Some approve every post first, so your post may say pending for a while; why a Facebook group post is pending explains what to do and what not to do. Activity matters more than member count: a group of 20,000 where people comment is worth more than a dead group of 200,000.
Writing a product post that sells
- Price in the post. "Price in inbox" puts many buyers off and is banned in many groups. Say the price, and whether it's fixed.
- Every fact a buyer asks: size, colour, material, condition, original or copy, what's in the box, delivery charge inside and outside your city, and how long delivery takes.
- Real photos. Your own pictures in daylight, showing the actual item, beat a catalogue image that ten other sellers also use.
- How to order in one line: "Message the Page" or "Comment and we'll message you".
- One product or one collection per post, so buyers searching the group find it.
Post to all your groups in one click
AutoGP is a Chrome extension with an account at autogp.ai. It posts to groups you've already joined, from your own logged-in Chrome, never asks for your Facebook password, and isn't affiliated with Meta.
- Sync your groups. In the Groups tab, click Sync Groups and AutoGP loads every group you're a member of.
- Save lists, such as "Dhaka buy and sell" or "Fashion groups", so each product goes to the right buyers.
- Write the post once in the Post tab and add the photos. Use spintax for a few versions of the opening and closing lines, so each group gets its own wording; AutoGP also varies each photo slightly per group.
- Click Start Posting. One click sends the post to every group on the list, spaced out with random pauses and within a daily limit set from your account's age. A new account starts low and the limit rises as the account gets older; if the list is longer than today's limit, AutoGP says so before it starts.
- Schedule the next one, so new stock goes out while you're packing orders.
- Answer the buyers. The Results tab shows which groups published the post, which are holding it for approval, and which couldn't take it and why.
Staying safe on Facebook
F-commerce sellers post a lot, which is exactly what Facebook watches for. The things that get accounts restricted are the same everywhere:
- The same text again and again. Vary the wording per group, and don't post the same product to the same group every day.
- Too much too soon on a young account. A new Facebook account that suddenly posts in 80 groups looks like a spam account. Start with fewer groups and grow.
- Breaking group rules. Posts that admins remove, and members who report you, count against you.
- Items Facebook doesn't allow. Facebook's Commerce Policies ban some products outright, such as medicines, weapons and animals; posts of those get removed.
AutoGP is built around these: it varies the wording and photos, paces posts to the account's age, and stops the whole run when Facebook objects instead of pushing on. No tool can promise an account won't be restricted, and we don't. Is auto-posting to Facebook groups safe? goes through it in detail.
What it costs
You can try AutoGP with 25 free posts, with every feature switched on. In Bangladesh, as in Pakistan, India and many other countries, the free posts start without a card, and plans cost less than the US price. The price for your country is on the pricing page, and how posting works is on post to many Facebook groups in one click.
Frequently asked questions
What is f-commerce in Bangladesh?
F-commerce is selling through Facebook: a Page as the shop, Messenger for orders, and buy and sell groups for finding new buyers, with delivery by courier and often cash on delivery. In Bangladesh many small online businesses sell this way instead of through a website.
How do I start an f-commerce business?
Make a Facebook Page with clear photos, prices and how to order. Join the active buy and sell groups for your city, district and product category, read their rules, and post each product there with its price and delivery details. Answer messages quickly, because buyers on Facebook often order from whoever replies first.
How can I post my products in many Facebook groups at once?
Facebook has no button for it. You can post in each group by hand, or use a Chrome extension like AutoGP that posts one post to dozens or 100+ groups you've joined, automatically, in one click, with a pace set from your account's age.
Is posting in many Facebook groups safe for my account?
It can get an account restricted if the same text goes out too often, too fast, or breaks group rules. Varying the wording, staying within a daily limit for your account's age and following each group's rules lowers the risk; nothing removes it completely.
Why is my post pending in a Bangladeshi buy and sell group?
Many buy and sell groups approve every post before it appears, to keep out scams. Your post went through and is waiting for an admin. Don't post it again; see Facebook group post pending.
Do I need a card to try AutoGP in Bangladesh?
No. In Bangladesh, as in other countries with lower prices, the 25 free posts start without a card. More guides on Facebook group marketing.
