AutoGP

Facebook lists into at most 20 groups at once

One Facebook listing form reaches 20 groups, so AutoGP splits a run into several. What it means when a group doesn't fit into one of them.

What it means

A listing isn't one post per group. Facebook publishes one listing into several groups from a single form, and its own limit is "You can list in up to 20 groups".

So AutoGP splits a listing run into forms: 40 groups is two, 140 groups is about seven. Each form is one listing, published to the group it was opened from plus up to 20 more.

This group couldn't be fitted into any of them. That normally means Facebook's own list on the form didn't offer it — the form offers only groups your listing can actually reach — or the form was already full when AutoGP got to it.

Nothing was published to this group, and the rest of the run went ahead. Your other groups aren't affected.

What to do

  1. Run the listing again for the groups it missed. They'll go onto a form of their own.
  2. List in this group by hand if it's the one that matters, using Sell Something in the group itself.
  3. Add it to an existing listing instead. Open the listing under Your items and choose List in more places — that adds groups to the listing you already published, rather than creating a second one.

Adding a group to the listing you already have is better than publishing the item twice. Near-identical listings of the same item are what puts your access to Facebook's selling features at risk.

When to contact support

Email support@autogp.ai if the same group is left out of every run and you can list in it by hand. Include its link and when the runs were.

More about posting

AutoGP couldn't find where to write the post

AutoGP opened the group but couldn't find Facebook's post box. The usual causes, from a slow page to Facebook's language setting, and what to try.

Facebook didn't confirm the post went through

AutoGP pressed Post, but Facebook showed an error or didn't take the post. Check the group before posting again, so it doesn't get the same post twice.

Posting to a group took too long

AutoGP gives each group a set time to post. Why one can run over, like a slow page, big images or a long post, and how to make the next run go smoothly.

The posting window was closed

AutoGP posts in a small window it opens for each group. If that window closes or leaves the group's page, the post stops. How to keep runs going.

A post didn't go through for another reason

When AutoGP can't tell why a post to a group failed: what to check first, how to try again safely, and what to send support so it can be fixed.

AutoGP couldn't fill in Facebook's listing form

Facebook's listing form changes, and a step AutoGP expected wasn't there. Why it happens, what it doesn't mean, and the two things that usually fix it.

The photos didn't reach Facebook

Every Facebook listing needs at least one photo, and this one's never finished uploading. What stops a photo attaching, and how to get the listing out.

Marketplace needs a category for this listing

Marketplace requires a category that buy and sell groups don't ask for, and Facebook didn't offer the one this listing needs. Two ways round it.

Facebook didn't confirm the listing was published

AutoGP filled in the listing form and pressed Post, but Facebook never confirmed it. Why to check before listing the same item a second time.
