Facebook temporarily blocked posting

Facebook stopped this account from posting for a while, so AutoGP stopped the run. How long these blocks last, what to do now, and how to avoid the next one.

What it means

Facebook has stopped this account from posting for a while. It limits how often an account can use some features, to protect people from spam, and it looks at how fast and how much an account posts. The wording varies. You may see "You're temporarily blocked", "You can't use this feature right now", or a message saying you were going too fast.

This is about your whole account, not one group: every group would refuse the next post, and each new try adds to the activity that caused the block. So with protection on, as it is by default, AutoGP stops the whole run as soon as Facebook says this, instead of carrying on with the other groups. Posts that went through before it stopped stay posted.

Facebook doesn't publish how long a block lasts. People commonly report anything from a few hours to a few days, sometimes a week, and longer when blocks repeat.

What to do

  1. Stop posting from this account for now, by hand and with AutoGP, in every group. Don't try another browser, a phone or another group to get around it.
  2. Check the Schedule tab, and don't let a scheduled post run until the block has lifted.
  3. Look for details on Facebook. Click your profile picture, then Help & support, then Account Status. Meta says it shows some restrictions and how long they last. Your Support Inbox may say more.
  4. Wait until the block has lifted, then give it another day or two before posting to groups again.
  5. Come back slower. Post to fewer groups at first and spread them over the day. Vary the wording with spintax, such as {Hi|Hey|Hello}, so no two copies are the same. In Settings, you can set a lower daily limit of your own.

When to contact support

AutoGP decides to stop from the words Facebook shows. If a run stopped with this reason but you can post by hand in several groups with no message from Facebook, email support@autogp.ai. Include the group's link, what the Results tab says, and what Run Diagnostics shows.

No one outside Facebook can lift a block or make it end sooner, AutoGP included.
