AutoGP posts through your own Chrome, logged in to your own Facebook account. No server posts for you, which is why AutoGP never needs your Facebook password. It also means a scheduled post can only go out if, at its time:
- the computer is on and awake, not asleep or shut down,
- Chrome is open, with AutoGP in it, and
- you're logged in to Facebook in that Chrome profile.
Scheduled posts also follow your posting hours and your daily limit, like any other run.
How to set a computer up
- Keep it plugged in and turned on.
- Stop it sleeping while it's plugged in. On a Mac, search System Settings for "sleep" and turn on the option that prevents automatic sleeping on power adapter. On Windows, search Settings for "sleep" and set the computer to never sleep when plugged in. The screen can still turn off.
- Keep a laptop's lid open, unless an external display is connected. Closing the lid puts most laptops to sleep.
- Leave Chrome open. If Chrome isn't running at a post's time, nothing can post.
- Stay logged in to Facebook in the Chrome profile AutoGP runs in.
Posts around the clock
A computer that sleeps at night, or goes in a bag, can't post while it does. If you schedule posts at all hours, pick one computer that stays on, such as a desktop, as your posting computer, and run AutoGP there.
If a post was due while the computer was off
A post that was due while the computer was asleep or off, or while Chrome was closed, couldn't go out at its time. Once Chrome is running again, open the Schedule tab to see what happened to each scheduled post.
When to contact support
Email support@autogp.ai if the computer was on and awake, Chrome was open and you were logged in to Facebook, but a scheduled post didn't run at its time. Include when it was due, what the Schedule tab says about it, and what Run Diagnostics shows.
